Jason Siko
Instructional Technology Consultant at Wayne RESA
Jason Siko, PhD, is an instructional technology consultant for Wayne RESA, a regional service agency supporting districts in southeastern Michigan, including Detroit. Jason has held several academic and administrative appointments in teacher preparation programs and educational technology, and was a secondary science teacher for 13 years. His research interests center on K-12 online learning. In particular, he has examined factors that determine student readiness for online learning, as well as leadership in online schools.
Jason has published papers on using constructionism as a learning strategy, borrowing Seymour Papert’s ideas to create units of instruction where students learn science by constructing low-tech games. He is a graduate of the Master’s program in Foresight at the University of Houston. Jason continues to do futures work, primarily in the area of education, and is an advocate for teaching futures techniques at all grade levels.
